Review: The Ribbon Trap by debutant author Shine Syamaladevi is an interesting work of an author and kudos to the author who started with this type of work, a different type of genre wherein, in the first part, you will find romance but as the story progresses, thriller, crime and mystery sets in giving a story an unexpected twists and turn. The idea of storytelling of the author is astounding as he has managed to advance the story with the flashback of gruesome incidents that the protagonist Smita had to suffer amidst administrative and political powers. The two protagonists of this plot is Krishnaprem & Smita are in love with each other since childhood and their love reigns supreme though they ride on roller-coaster, but their relationship matures with age. Krishnaprem follows Smita like a shadow and is along with her through the upheavals of life that Smita faces at her workplace and the trauma of gory incidences that follows leads her to depression. Smita’s journey at work front is very traumatic.
The author Shine Syamaladevi has portrayed the character of Smita of a bold and a strong-willed woman, who is a fighter and triumphs fighting the odds of life. In the beginning, the story moves slowly but later on, it catches fire and keeps you on toes, surprising you with each turn of pages and keeps you glued igniting a lurk within what holds next. The character of Smita is very promising. To know more how she fares against all odds of life and manages to overcome with a conviction and how she rebels, do grab a copy of yours and read it for yourself. The character of Smita is very inspiring. The language is simple English easy for the masses to understand.
My Take: I enjoyed reading The Ribbon Trap of the debutant author Shine Syamaladevi and it kept me hooked till the end. The author knows to stir the emotions of the reader and his story has done its work. The turbulence that the protagonists suffer in the hands of the Police is quite realistic and I felt as if I am watching a movie, so well-illustrated. The cover page is quite impressive.
A debutant author generally picks up a romantic number to start with but, Shine Syamaladevi took a new route of thriller, crime, romance and mystery and has justified his work. I appreciate his work and wish him good luck for his future endeavours.
