Akshardham Temple is the largest Hindu temple in the world and one of the great attractions of Delhi, standing tall on the NH 24. It was completed in the year 2005 and was inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Kalam. The temple is a tribute to Swaminarayan, avatars and great sages of Hinduism. The most unique quality of this temple is that the whole structure is built out of marble stones and no metal has been used in the construction. The architecture of the temple is amazing and it is a praiseworthy contribution of the volunteers who erected the temple. It has beautiful gardens, hall, theatre, light and sound fountain show with live actors and many more. There is metro connectivity and the nearest station is Akshardham metro station.

ISKCON Temple Delhi

ISKCON Temple is one of the most popular attractions among tourists. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna and it is located on the Hare Krishna Hill in the Eastern Kailash, built-in 1998. The architecture of the temple is quite impressive. There is a massive structure of Lord Krishna and it has a unique way of offering prayers to Krishna. You will feel at peace at this temple and if you wish, you can sit and chant Vedic mantras. There is a big library of Vedic literature and other spiritual books related to Lord Krishna. Chhatarpur Temple

Chhatarpur Temple is dedicated to the Goddess Katyayani, the incarnation of Goddess Durga. It is located in Chhatarpur on the south-western outskirts of the city of Delhi, built-in 1974. It is spread across 70 acres and it is well managed by the temple society and it has basic amenities for the visitors. Prior to Akshardham Temple, this temple was the second largest temple in the world and the largest in India. The major attraction of this place is the marvellous and picturesque architecture, cleanliness, idol of 9 forms of Durga and a 100 feet statue of Lord Hanuman. The Chhatarpur metro station is nearby the temple.

Lakshminarayan Temple

Birla Mandir was built by the famous industrialist of India, B.D.Birla in the year 1938 and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi.  The original name of the temple is Lakshminarayan temple but got famous by the name of the industrialist. It was the first large temple built in Delhi during that time. It is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. The temple is built in red sandstone and white marble and grandeur to watch sprawled over 7 acres. The temple is located on the Mandir Marg, situated west of the Connaught Place in New Delhi. The R. K. Ashram Marg metro station is near to Birla Mandir.

Lotus Temple is a unique temple of the Bahai community. It does not have any idols in the premises. It is built in the shape of a lotus flower as its name and it has 72 white petals of pristine white built in marble. The architectural beauty of this temple and serenity will behold your attention. The temple was inaugurated in 1986. There is a large prayer hall to pray and meditate, a stop to peace. You can reach there by the Nehru Place metro.
